Bible Study Booklets

The Apostles is a collection of the catecheses Pope Benedict XVI gave during his weekly General Audiences in 2006 and 2007. The talks were given in either St. Peter’s Square or, in less favorable weather, the Paul VI Hall next to St. Peter’s Basilica.

Below are excerpts from a study guide written by Amy Welborn and available for free download here.

Below are some of questions for the session on the apostles  Simon and Jude.

Questions for Reflection

1. How have you experienced the diversity of the Church? How have you experienced communion (the union brought about by God) and Communion (the Eucharist) in the midst of this diversity?

2. Do you ever yearn for God to make his presence known more obviously? What helps you understand Jesus’ words to Simon more deeply in terms of your own life?

3. What conflicts have you experienced between the values of the world and the values of the Gospel? What does the presence of Jesus in the Church offer you to help you resolve these conflicts?
