As questions of blame for the terrorist attacks continue to circulate and be debated, with a fascinating range of purported "thinkers" from Jerry Falwell to Susan Sontag to Michael Moore to a whole lot of people in and around San Francisco finding many creative ways to blame, as it were, the victims, for this attack, my thoughts turn to St. Augustine.
